I am in Denver, Colorado...there is els center here...but that is nt mentioned on the ielts.org website.

after u have save ur application it shouldnt take more than a minute when u want to pick a date .. I guess u got keeping looking ..

Just wanted to know about your EAD: Which Center you have applied ? NSC/TSC. What date they have received. My EAD Renewal is pending, and I wish to change job. :confused:

Usually, the I-485 application is considered abandoned and eventually denied if you dont show up for finger printing...
However, if your I-140 from the previous employer is approved, you can still use that to port your PD to your current petition...You might need a copy of the old I-140 approval to do so....

now a days that test is mandatory for all Asian countries. If you did master's in US then you no need to take that test. in their website there is a point calculation chart for the points that you get in IELTS the corresponding points for canada pr. If won't take that test mostly they will reject the application if you are from Asia.

I'm a geek and like tech toys a lot, but when it comes to phones I just want it to be a good phone. I don't want it to include a poor PDA, or a lousy camera. I can see how it could be handy for some people and a fun toy for others, but personally I prefer to carry separate and fully functional phone, Palm Pilot and camera. It's great if they communicate though. I did get a new phone recently because I like the Bluetooth concept, for a wireless headset and for dial-up from my Palm or laptop. Other than that I don't like any of the new features yet. On top of being fiddly to use and low quality the prices here for using any picture or video based services are silly. It also often requires you to sign up for at least a year with a phone that's locked to a specific operator, even after the contract expires, a business model I really don't like.

First of all, this is a wrong forum to went our your points about illegals.. We in IV encourage a legal immigration. But the moment we start excluding people, the list can go on and on.. You start with so called illegasl today (with due sympathy for using that word..), but this exclusion will go on to legals, new doctors, engineers willing to come, settle and work in USA. Remember this is a land of immigrants. If you have any doubt, just look at the new bills introduced by senators to effectively kill H1B program the only legal option for most educated to come to US.
Lets for instance say we want everyone to go back to their own countries.. Where do you want to draw that line to go back, 1980?, 1900? how about 1600??
Grow up and learn to innovate new ways to get employed and live a happy life. Don't try to ruin the very foundation on which this country is built. Trust me there are more patriots in this forum than you could imagine..

so, we are not out of the woods yet? its just that they (USCIS) can now say that they have gone through x number of apps... i wish they clarified this really well...

All the written agreements are valid in most of the states. but you can argue on the terms of agreement. He cannot ask her to stay in the company for 4 years. If she works in that company for 1 year, her employer should recover all the money he spent on her.
The best way is to work there for 1 or 2 years and walk out without paying anything. Or just pay the filing fee and get out right away.

Have written to my Immigration Coordinator who will confirm with the company lawyer if this rule applies to 'pending' I-140 approvals or will 'filed' and 'approved' I-140 (prior to May-15-07) be safe.
Will let you know his response.

call USCIS and ask them about the problem. If you get a good IO, they will open a ticket to consolidate. Try until, you get someone who sounds knowledgeable. Then take a infopass at your local office after a week to see if that helps any. I did that and took a infopass for this friday to check at local office. My PD is nov 2004. I will keep you posted.

and show them the column, "Lawful Temporary Residents" they cannot refuse to give licence, the employees in DMV should get a training, Otherwise contact Harrisburg, PA DMV and talk to an officer, get his name and let the people who refuse, to call him and talk to him about the revised law 8 months back.

I had gone through the layoff thing during 2001-2002 time. Maybe, I might be mistaken. But I feel that time it was even worse.
2001 It seemed like once all dot-com related stuff clears out market will stablize, But this time this problem, Is not just Whole IT, but all industries , I heard except healthcare and education all sectors are shedding jobs. Not only that all countries have same issue , just not the countries who depend on IT related sectors for there economy.
Worst part is No-End insight, So you don't how long you have to ride this out. No economist is ready to bet if the economic stimulas will really boost up to bring out of this reccession/ depression.
I am under-estimating the problems I 2001-2002. And probably people who got affected directly by that know more about the pain, then who never went through that kind of problem.
